These paintings were made through a process of pressing the faces of canvases (face-planting) in to my studio floor. Pressure was applied to the backs of paintings. The floor was the stage where wet paint set-up to transfigure. Paint dripped through the foor, through the cracks. This was not preferred by the tenant below. A raised platform had to be constructed, a stage with a tarp undreneath to catch the drips. These canvases capture the trace of peformance and tranference of studio activity.
